Nutritional Advice for Quitting Smoking

Foods that help when quitting smoking: oats ... yogurt ... sunflower seeds ... garlic ... ginger ... cloves ... apples ... almonds ... beet greens ... berries ... carrots ... celery ... dandelion greens ... figs ... lima beans ... onions ... peas ... raisins ... spinach ... collard greens ... kale ... winter squash ... broccoli ... cabbage ... sweet potatoes ... oat bran ... (ground) flaxseeds ... oatstraw tea ... alfalfa tea ... alfalfa-peppermint tea

Eat small frequent meals that contain adequate protein from sources such as legumes, fish, poultry, and whole grains like brown rice, millet, corn, and buckwheat.

Drinking fresh vegetable juice helps to detoxify the body. Celery, beet, wheat grass, and carrot juice cleanse the body and provide valuable antioxidants.

For desserts and snacks, choose natural, low fat, low calorie, high fiber foods.

Drink plenty of water.
