Quitting smoking is by far the best thing I have ever done. I feel fantastic. I quit on May 31st, 2013. I am 52 years old and have wanted to quit and have also attempted to quit for years. I slipped up twice when I drank but learned from that. In the beginning I was so tired all I did was sleep. I felt depressed. I missed the poison stick that was killing me. I still have the odd occasion when I miss it but not often. I had to change my mental train of thought. I bought a book called Allen Carr's Easy way to stop smoking and it really helps. I was over the physical addiction but not mental addiction. Now I am doing great. I smoked for 38 years and if I can quit anyone can.
