We had moved in to our new place in 2011 and I realized the stairs were steep. My basement was my walk in from outside, so only laundry, storage, entertainment room downstairs and a bathroom, everything upstairs. Well after going up and down those stairs a few times because we use the entertainment more than any other room, I was out of breath, it was really getting to me. I then realized I was out of breath just tying my shoe. I have tried quitting before and the longest was 8 months then started up again. But this time, I had to do something about it. I went and saw my doctor, told him I was serious about quitting and he told me about Champix. I went and picked up my prescription, set a quit date, once I was close to my quit date, I washed all my clothes, blankets and towels, I did not smoke in the house. I had to change all my habits and find new things to focus on. I even took up meditation and relaxation, which helped so much. So I quit Oct 01, 2011 and have been quit since then. I did gain some weight, but did not focus on that until I was comfortable that I was smoke free for good! I have been working on my eating healthy and exercise now and have lost 25lbs, all done naturally! I free great, I am more energized, I sleep better, breathe better...I live better! My biggest accomplishment was last year in Jasper, I took the Tran-am to the mountain and walked to the top without wheezing or out of breath. I plan on running a 1/2 Marathon when I am more trained. I also have, well had mild asthma, I seem to not have it anymore! I am so happy I quit. It will be 3 years in a few short months! If you are determined, you can do it! I was MIND frame ready, that is the key! It can be done!
